WHAT IS THE EGRESS STANDARD IN QUÉBEC?
For a window to be considered an emergency escape opening (Egress standard), it must have a minimum clear opening width and height of 15 inches and provide at least 3.76 square feet of clear opening. It must be operable from the inside without a key, tool, or special knowledge.
Our MÉO window (casement with an operable mullion) meets the required performance standards and offers an affordable, high quality solution, both to comply with the code and to make it easier to bring materials, or for example firewood, into your basement or cellar. A configuration that can be practical and essential in the event of a fire.
